SUCH A FUN LIFE

We visited Kari and kids two weeks ago (has it already been that long???) and stayed five days while Eric was out of town.  It was so nice to not worry about my dishes, and stay up late watching So You Think You Can Dance.  This picture is of Noah, Addie and Macie running in a beautiful PA field.  Can you tell who is who?
We did manage to get them all on the seat at once!  Too bad Noah's face is covered.  They had a great time playing together for the most part.

Built-in teething toy!  He got his first bottom two teeth shortly after we left Kari's house.
At Addie's school library, relaxing last Tuesday.  I had never been there before, it's really nice!
My, my, Carson is getting so tall and big-looking lately.  All he does is talk about being a "big boy."  Once school starts (day after Labor Day) and things settle down into a routine, I think I may try my hand at potty training the adorable guy.
Sawyer gets almost everywhere he wants by ROLLING!  So happy to be mobile!
These pics of Macie were taken yesterday.  Crimped hair can make even a sick girl with a fever feel a little happy!

Our thriving tomato plants.  The two on the left are beefsteak plans, and we've had probably 15 tomatoes from the two of them, and the two on the right are grape tomato plants and they've been producing like crazy!  It's hard to tell, but they're still dripping with the yummy fruit.  I think Jason has found his true love---gardening.  He loves being out there, pruning and keeping a careful eye on them, and he's likewise fond of our few flowers.  Next year we're definitely going to put in a garden.

I, sadly, took veeery few pics from our trip to Utah for my brother-in-law's wedding.  We all had a good time, and very much enjoyed driving around our rented Ford Flex!
And here we are being SAVED by Grandpa and Grandma when we RAN OUT OF GAS on the freeway on the way to the airport to catch our flight home!  Soooo funny...

I'm slowly getting back into running.  Jason and I ran a 5K on Saturday and we both finished!  My goal was to finish without walking or stopping, and I did it!  Jason, of course, beat me while pushing ALL FOUR KIDS in our double jogging stroller.  He's a stud.  We were both happy with our results, and will be doing another one in September.
Addie's hair is getting long again, and Hillary, she has been loving your hand me downs!  Recognize that dress??
Made these throw pillows with my friend.  I love them, aren't they cute?  And they match our new...

Family Blog

I'm not sure if everyone knows that Jim and I have a family Blog that I keep updated. It's listed on the side bar to the right but just in case you didn't know I put the url below. I write more and post extra pictures that are not on Facebook or Instagram. As a add on I am posting a cute picture of Walter and Zalen.

Refinishing question

For anyone who has been to and seen my house, here's a question for you. Charlie is busy refinishing our master bathroom. Currently there is a door from our bedroom into the bathroom and then also one from the family room into the bathroom. We are debating whether or not to take out the door from the family room and just have the bathroom be a true master bathroom with only access from the master bedroom. What are your opinions?

Charlie update

Charlie had 3 interviews on Thursday. The first one was for a teaching position in Kalamazoo. The principal he worked with at Beecher got a principal position there and wanted Charlie to come work with him. Charlie pretty much did the interview to be accommodating. We don't really plan on moving there for just a teaching position. Then he drove down to Three Oaks, MI for another interview. That one is for an assistant principal position. He feels like he did fairly well in that interview. Then on the drive home he did an interview over the phone for another position in WV. Today he was called back and asked to do a second interview at Three Oaks on Tuesday next week. He really liked that school and was hoping for a call back. He's pretty excited to have gotten one. It would be nice for him to get a different position, especially an administration position, but I am not excited to have to move and we would need to for that job since it's about three hours away. So I have mixed feelings. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Prayers on Charlie's behalf would be great. Thanks!

What is going on with Charlie's interviews?

the fly-by month

I love summer.  I love that Addie is home from school and we're not in a hurry every morning.  I love play dates, and staying up late with Jason, and tomatoes ripening on my porch.  I'm already dreading school starting again.  This last month has flown by!
The week before school let out, Addie got a terrible case of poison ivy.  Here it is, at its peak.  She was a trooper and smiled through most of it.  Not me, I got it and complained endlessly.

 The coolest folks around!

Macie turned 4!
We have made it a tradition to have the kitchen table decorated when they wake up in the morning, and they are allowed to open one present at breakfast time.

 My adorable little guy

Macie's Princess Party was a hit!  We had tons of little boys and girls here, dressed in costume.  Jason and I spent the afternoon building the cardboard box castle, complete with tunnels and a toy kitchen in the back (that's what the second picture is).  We ended the night with an outdoor movie, and watched Sleeping Beauty.  It was so much fun.  We really love our house, it is great for entertaining, and the yard (although a fat pain to mow) was awesome for the kids.  Jason and I high-fived when it was all over, and totally felt like cool parents.

CAMPING PICTURES!!
I don't have many, Jason has more on his phone, but these are the few I got.

I love this last one with the magnifying glass, it's pretty cool.  That was on the drive home.

Addie is a great big sister!
Macie is looking so grown up these days. She has such a cute smile.
Addie turned SIX on the 3rd.  Here is her requested turtle cake.  She had a friend from school over for almost the entire day on her actual birthday and...
an old preschool friend over on Friday for a Girls Night, complete with making their own pizza, painting toenails, and watching Brave.  (Thanks for the PJs, Hillary!)
This is soooo Carson, asleep in the car with a giant dump truck on his lap.

I'm so sad there are less than two months left of summer!  I am trying to savor every day.  We leave for Utah on Wednesday and return Tuesday.  My brother-in-law is getting married this weekend and it will hopefully be a blast (if we don't scorch to death).  Yay for summer!!!
