Daddy Daughter dance
Last Friday the elementary school held a daddy daughter dance. Charlie took them before he had to go to Saginaw for the wrestling individual regionals tournament. The girls were so excited to go with him. I'm so glad he was able to take them. They had a blast and looked so cute!

Happy Birthday Jaxson!
So this is a week late, but he deserves his attention like my other kids. He was so excited for his birthday. It's all I heard about for the whole month before hand. Once he was officially five he told me that he was going to kindergarten school now. I told him he couldn't go until next year and that he'd have to keep going to preschool. He got upset and said very sternly to me, "But I'm five!" Like that meant he automatically got to go to kindergarten. He's such a character. He had been asking for Lego people the whole month too, but I'd already bought his gift during after-Christmas sales. So Mom got him some and they his most favorite toy right now. They far outshine what I got him. Good job, Grandma!
Our last picture...
Our last picture happened last night. Lexi had a choir concert. Sorry it's a little dark, but the lights were off. She is right in the front in the middle (on the director's right). They sang two songs they have prepared to sing in a festival next week. Last night was a practice concert so they could be more ready to perform for the festival. Lexi just got into choir at the beginning of the semester. She loves it. One of the songs they did was in German. They learned it in 3 weeks. I thought that was pretty good.

Mom this was a great idea. It's been fun to see everyone's last picture.

Last picture
If I read your post right, Mom, you wanted us to post that last picture we took? I hope that's what it is.
Jump City
This happened a couple weekends ago (I'll find our most recent picture and upload it later), but I thought I'd share some of the photos from a trip we took to Jump City. It's basically two big rooms full of those carnival-style inflatable bouncy structures. Harvey had a great time. I was just getting over being sick, so I probably overdid it, but it's tough to just stand and watch when your two-year-old is having so much fun and calling to you to join him.

Last picture
Just so there is something new to look at on the blog, why don't each of you post the last picture you have taken on it. It doesn't matter what it's a picture of, but let's SEE it. Dad's is already posted, since it was at Merrit's blue and gold banquet, and mine is still in my camera on film (but it was at the banquet also). I'm sure the rest of you can find time to put one picture on here. Let's try it and see how it works.

Merrit's Big Night
We attended the Blue and Gold banquet/Pack meeting with Hillary and her family last Wednesday night (Feb 17) where Merrit was presented with his Webelos badge and the Arrow of Light. It was quite a nice event and fun to see him doing so well in Scouting (albeit Cubs right now). I told him how excited we'd be when we came for his Eagle Scout court of honor and he wasn't sure what he needed to do to get there. Since he just turned eleven years old he will become an 11-Year Old scout and begin to do more Boy Scout type activities and work on Boy Scout awards. Who knows, he be be the second Eagle Scout in the Hutchinson line. I will post a few pictures I took of the great event. It was fun and we really enjoyed being there.

Happy Birthday Lexi
Lexi turned 13 yesterday! I can't believe it. She is going to have a few friends over on Saturday and watch the movies Twilight and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix since she couldn't watch them until she was 13. She's pretty excited and we're pretty excited for her too.
Sorry the image is so dark. Our lights in that room are on the dim side.

Charlie's team won districts
Lastnight, Charlie's team won districts. They beat Carmen-Ainsworth and Flushing (of all schools) Of course he is pretty excited, but I have mixed emotions. It just means the season will go on for a little longer. I am glad for him though, and that he was able to be a part of it. Tomorrow is district individuals in Bay City. I'll let you know how that goes.

help needed
Ok, so I thought it would be fun to hear your suggestions and ideas. On Saturday I'm helping throw a baby shower for my friend Mallory. Her favorite game is The Wheel of Fortune, so for the game we're doing The Baby Wheel of Fortune (you know, it's a small version of the game and it will be about babies--perfect!) and I'm in charge of it.
Anyhow, I am having a hard time coming up with difficult and clever baby-related answers/puzzles. I would like to have 8 rounds ready. Here is what I have come up with so far.
category: NEXT LINE PLEASE (after finishing the puzzle, if they know the correct line after the phrase they get extra money)
answer: Eating her curds and whey
bonus money: Along came a spider and sat down beside her and frightened Miss Muffet away
category: EVENTS
answer: episiotomy
category: PLACES
answer: bassinet
So, do you have any ideas? Here are some of the regular categories actually used on the show besides the three I've already said. Anything you can come up with would be helpful! SAME NAME, OCCUPATIONS, THINGS, PEOPLE, PERSONS, BEFORE AND AFTER, PROPER NAME, AROUND THE HOUSE, FOOD AND DRINK, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, LIVING THINGS, ON THE MAP, HUSBAND & WIFE, FICTIONAL FAMILY, SONG TITLE, SONG LYRICS, RHYME TIME. I'm sure there are more, or we could come up with our own. Thanks for letting me pick your brain!

Gotta love snow days!
We did end up with a snow day. We are all pretty excited. Here are Merrit and Chelsea out in the snow. Makayla is out there too somewhere, but I took this picture from the window. I wasn't about to go out myself (although I will have to at some point to shovel the driveway).

As you can see from this picture. The driveway is in huge need of being shoveled, since you can't even see where it is. In this picture you should be able to see the top of the circular drive. Alas, you cannot. I like how much snow is on the car too. It kind of gives a good indicator of how much we have. I'm not sure what the official measurement is. We had about 4 inches before we went to sleep lastnight. I dont' think it is the 10 inches they were predicting though.

I think the goats are probably the only ones who don't appreciate this snow. Look how deep it goes up on their legs. They have been staying in their lean-to most of the time.
It is still snowing a little, but the wind has picked up a lot and it is bitter cold now with the wind chill. The kids didn't stay out long because of it. Oh well, I'm sure they'll go back out later. I love snow days. Especially when I don't have anything I need to do.

Merrit's birthday
I thought I'd share a video of us singing to Merrit tonight. Wish you could've been here in person though.
