The Crim

My friend, June, convinced me to run the 5K with her at the Crim this August. So I started getting back into shape this morning. It's probably good for me to have a goal to work towards. I was having a hard time finding motivation to exercise. This will be good for me. The Crim is a marathon that takes place in Flint every August. I'm sure it will be super hot that day too, just for me.

Last Day of Trip

We spent almost all day driving home, except when we stopped in Le Clair, Iowa at lunch time.  We saw Antique Archeology and ate at the A & W there.  We are home now and had a WONDERFUL trip!  It all went as planned without any problems, it was great.

 We spent most of the day driving across Nebraska.  We stopped and had lunch with Dee, his son Tracy and Tracy's girlfriend.  The girl below is Tracy's daughter, Desiree (I don't know how to spell it), she is in cosmetology school.

This is the Winter Quarters Temple.  It's the same as the Snowflake Temple and the floor plan on the second floor is the same as the Detroit Temple.

We left Grandma and Grandpa's this morning and drove to the Vernal Temple.  They made this temple out of the old Vernal Tabernacle.  A lady told us that there was a house in town that was made out of the same brick as the tabernacle, so when the church needed more brick to enlarge the building and put a fence around it, they bought the house and tore it down so they could use the brick!

Here is all the news I learned tonight;
1. Amy is pregnant.
2. Paul has split from Bronwyn and is living with Karen.  He is sick, so we didn't see him.
3. Rick and Elise got sealed in March.
4. April is getting divorced from her second husband.
5. Sadie got accepted to BYU (she found out today), and she plans to go on a mission.  She also has a boyfriend who is going on a mission in the next couple of months.

 We started the day at the St. George Temple.

 We had lunch at Keith and Barbara Hammer's in Hurricane.

 We got caught up with the Galans in Cedar City.

We took a tour of Cove Fort on the way to Grandma's.

Unbelievable....

So I did something at church yesterday that I never thought I would do.... I broke up a fight, a fist fight between two women. Really long story, but no one was terribly injured. I sure hope it doesn't happen EVER again. On a happier note, I took two exams today and I know I have 100% on the first one and I'm pretty confident I did well on the second one. Two down, three more to go. I'm most worried about the one I have Wednesday night, so any prayers you could offer on my behalf would be greatly appreciated. I'm almost done, I'm almost done....

 Wayne took us to the Tuacahn Theatre.  It is an outdoor theatre outside of St. George where Wayne and Joan volunteer so they can get in free.  The picture above are some of the formations around the theatre, and the one below was taken there also.

This interesting creature was outside of the cafe in Enterprise where we asked directions to the cemetery.  I remember that I had some ancestors buried there, but there must be another cemetery, because no one in the one we saw were old enough.

 We stopped at the Petrified Forest National Park today.  The first shot is of the Painted Desert.

                                        There were several pictographs.

 There are trees that have turned to stone laying all over the place,  They broke into pieces when they fell down.

 Today Dad and I went to a museum that had goods that were taken from a sunken river boat outside of Kansas City.  The boat sunk in 1856 in the Missouri River.  The river changed course and when they dug it up the ship was in the middle of a corn field!  These are pictures of some of the things they found.

 We went to see Deena's family in Lawrence, Kansas and took her and the kids out to dinner.

                                    We found a road named after my mother.

 After church we went to a sculpture park that I think Jana went to a couple of years ago.  The bottom on is in the middle of a fountain, but it looked to cool wrapped up like a mummy that I had to take the picture.  I'm sure it's a very nice looking person in the summer without the wraps!
