what we've been up to

Carson and Jon (my friend's son) riding the train at the mall.  Carson asks every time we see it, but I never want to pay for the girls too.  This time they were both at school, so we did it.  He was in HEAVEN.  He is obsessed with all things trains and cars...still...probably forever.

Baby Parking! Here are the baby siblings at Macie's preschool, Sawyer is the far left.  These babies were born within two weeks of each other.  Still lovelovelove this preschool.  In fact, I've been hired to be the music teacher there next year, and I'm so excited to do it!

All bundled up, ready to head outside for the snow.  In March.  All of the play-able snow has happened this month, just in time for spring.  Ha.

Our house...hopefully soon.  We've had our closing date changed at least five times.  It's been a frustrating experience and an emotional rollercoaster.  Now they're saying we'll close this Tuesday.  If we do, it will take about a week to paint the entire inside, and then we'll hopefully move the day before or after Easter.  I can't wait to be just 5-10 minutes from EVERYTHING.  Our lives will completely change.  The 45 minutes we've been driving for the last year has been brutal.  Jason's office is even closer, a mere 3 minutes away!  Now THAT is worth the wait!

Carson has really come into his own these last few months.  He is a funny boy, with a lot of energy.  He is sweet and sensitive too, and very much a mama's boy.  He gives the best hugs.

This is from a few days ago, the day before a big snow storm.  The weather has been so crazy.  Anyhow, the kids were enjoying checking out the creek, looking at the new flowers and bugs.  I will miss all the property we live on now, it is so fun to wander down to the creek and swamp, up to the goats, and around the woods.

I can't figure out how to rotate this picture on here, but it's a cute one.  Sawyer is a great baby, and he actually has some legitimate rolls on his legs!  He's in the 50th percentile for weight, which from our family is a miracle!  He's HUGE!  He has a sweet temperment, but doesn't like to be left alone for too long.  It's a good thing Addie just adores him, her attention has made my life so much easier!

Kite flying yesterday.  Look at the yard, I will miss all the space!

Hillary's academic honor

I attended a nice formal award ceremony tonight with Hillary and Charlie at the Detroit Athletic Club at which Hillary was awarded an honor given by the Financial Executives International as the top undergraduate in the Finance program at the University of Michigan-Flint.  It was a very nice event and a very nice honor for Hillary.

Congratulations Hillary!!

Good Friday

I am issuing an invitation to all of my children (sorry Jana, I know you won't be here).  On Good Friday we are going to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo in order to use the pass that Dad and I bought last year. Since Kari will be here and she wants to go, we are going to do it.  Kari and Hillary already know about it, so I guess this is for Kurt's and Jim's family, would you like to go?  Let me know if it will work out for you or not.  Thanks

Happy Belated Anniversary Mom and Dad!

I did think of it yesterday and wanted to call and then I forgot. I'm good at that lately. Love you guys and am so glad you got married all those many years ago.

better news

Soo...completely disregard the post that said we weren't coming at the end of March...because NOW WE ARE!!  Hurray for small miracles.  The school is reimbursing Eric's trip to Kirksville for testing, so we are becoming part of that trip.  Eric will drop us off in MI and go onto Kirksville and then come back and get us.  So we will be without a car-so it would be AMAZING if any of you in Michigan could drop by Mom's and visit.  Eric will be back for Good Friday, so we will be taking a trip with Mom and Dad-join us!  Anyway, we will get there Monday March 25-probably in the afternoon and we haven't quite decided when we will leave because Sunday will be Easter, so we might stay and leave that night.  Anyway...YAY!  I can't wait

Prayers for my mom

Please pray for my mom. I just found out she is being moved to ICU. Her vitals are unstable, she is having high fevers, low blood pressure, slurring to the point where I can't really understand her, and incoherent on and off. The doctor now thinks that liquid and food may be getting into her lungs. Jim and I are going to visit her this weekend. I'm really hoping this isn't the last time I see her but It's not looking good. I would also ask that you pray for our safety to Florida. I know you all don't know my mom but she is a child of God and is in need of prayer. Please also pray for our family that we will have the strength to face whatever trails are ahead. I'm so thankful for all of you. Even before Jim and I got married you all have treated me like family and showed me unconditional love.  I will keep everyone updated on whats going on. Thanks!
