Charlie has a job!
Charlie finally has a job. He'll be working at Beecher High school in Flint. We aren't sure when he will acutally start because he has to be officially hired by the school board, but the school offered the job and he accepted. The school board is more of a formality-type thing, but until that is taken care of he can't actually start working. We are excited for him to have a job, but not very excited about the school that he'll be working for. It's a pretty rough, inner city school, with some rough and tough students. It's also going to be for 7th and 8th grade math. Charlie doesn't really like middle school either, but he thinks he has a good chance of getting into the high school next year. They have a pretty high turn over rate for teachers because the school is so rough. I will for sure get him some pepper spray to carry and I joke that I might have to get him a tazer gun as well. I know the Lord will watch over him though. Now we can move on to buying a house. We have one picked out. Now we just have to get a mortgage for it which might be trickier said than done with the way the market is now.

P.S. I wanted to say thank you for all the prayers and thoughts you guys sent our way. I know the Lord answers prayers, all in His time frame and Charlie's job is certainly an answer to many prayers. Thanks!
Hurray!!! I know you must feel relieved. And working in a rougher school district might look better down the road-especially if he sticks it out for a while. It might show a future employer his committment to teaching and his job. Who knows! But congratulations and I hope you find a great house that won't need to be fixed up too much :)
Yay, I'm glad it's finally all coming together! Is he nervous to work there? Do they pay inner-city teachers more? Probably not, I guess. Where is the house you have picked out and do you have pictures of it? I think the tazer gun isn't a bad idea, actually (except I'm sure he'd be sued if he ever used it).
The house we like is actually just down the road from his job, only like an 8 minute drive. We are so excited about that. I don't think he is scared to work there. Although, I don't know that he'd let on if he were anyway. They don't pay inner-city better, in fact they pay worse, because the school district doesn't have as much money as a suburban school district. He will be making just a little bit less than he did last year, which won't be terrible. We should have enough to live. We did find out that the school board meeting isn't until the 15th, so he won't actually start working until after that some time.
