I meant to post this a couple days ago, but didn't get around to it.
Thursday morning Harvey had his six month doctor visit. His appointment was at 8am, which is when the place opens, but we were there a bit early to make sure we wouldn't have any wait time once we got in. Well, we were sitting in the parking lot waiting, playing with Harvey, since he's always really happy in the morning. He's happy most of the time, but especially in the morning.
Heather put her finger in his mouth to let him chew on it, and lo and behold, he could actually chew. Harvey has teeth!
The teeth are his lower front two. (The teeth that a dentist would label O and P, or 24 and 25 in an adult.) On Thursday, one was up about a millimeter and the other was just barely breaking through the gums. It's startling how fast they're growing, too. You usually don't think of teeth as fast moving, but both teeth are noticeably bigger than when we found them on Thursday.
The appointment itself wasn't as exciting. Just the normal measurement taking, asking about his development, etc. He did have to get four shots, two in each leg, which aren't his favorite things. He cries so hard that no sound comes out, and his face goes beet red. Heather and I don't like it much either. But a minute or two later, the doctor came back in (a nurse gives the shots), and Harvey tried to smile at him through his crying. A few more minutes and it was like nothing had happened. We've got a great kid.

How exciting for Harvey. I love developmental steps. They are so fun and exciting to watch happen.
That's great about his teeth, I can't wait to see him and see the new look.
How wonderful that he tried to smile through his tears and was fine in minutes. Immunizations are important, but I wish it didn't have to hurt.
And congrats on his teeth. Yipee! We think Noah is teething. He drools to no end, chews on his hands and his burp rag and sometimes when he is upset, he'll calm down when Eric rubs his bottom gums (which is something we read about online). He's been like this for about 2-3 weeks, so maybe one or two teeth will have cut by the time we come in June, we'll see.
I'm excited to finally MEET Harvey and Noah in June, and their new teeth!
