Our computer STILL isn't recognizing any USB cables, so we can't upload pictures. We've tried all the tricks told to us and that we've found online, but nothing works. Grrrr... Fortunately we have a wireless printer, so at least we can carry on in some capacities!
Things here are much the same, but in some ways, much more frustrating. Here are the updates:
PREGNANCY-
All is well with the baby. This little person is an ACTIVE one! Waaaaay more than I remember my others being. Whenever I'm in any sort of stretched out position, this little wee person is kicking and turning and punching and hiccuping. It's been crazy. And the kids already love him/her.
We have a few names picked out. Feel free to let us know what you think. If it's a boy it will most likely be Sawyer William. I'm still not 100% sold on Sawyer (what do you call him for short? Soy? Stupid...) but we both like it a lot. If it's a girl we have a few we like, but none we absolutely LOVE-- Roxanne (Roxy), Lydia, Leah, and there were more but I can't remember them right now.
I have gestational diabetes this time around. I've never had it before, and it's not a walk in the park. I am so in awe of Heather's dedication! She was diagnosed early and had to watch it for soooo long. I am fortunate in that mine isn't that bad, and I have been able to control it with just diet so far. But still, NOT FUN. Constant pricking, constant asking from the kids if I can eat this or that, constant anxiety about eating one cracker or not enough protein. Ugh. On the flip side, I've been doing great, and am even losing weight (although I realize that is NOT the goal right now).
The perinatal center has recommened that I come in for WEEKLY ultrasounds, but I'm fighting them on it until I can get in to see my regular OB next week--the only thing they mentioned to me were growth ultrasounds every four weeks. Ultrasounds are dreadfully expensive, and we have a dreadfully HIGH deductible, and I really am not all that high-risk(according to everyone)...so I am trying to negotiate a compromise. Bi-weekly ultrasounds? We'll see what happens. The perinatal center thinks I'm stupid, but I believe in being your own advocate, as uncomfortable as it may be at times.
HOUSE:
Well? What to say? This Military HAP sale is turning out to be a much LONGER process than we had orginally been told it would be. We're not surprised, we've had the worst luck with purchasing a house all year long. Nothing is easy for us in this department it seems.
We've nearly got our loan straightened out (yay!) and are now just waiting on the govt to close the deal. On Friday we were told it could be another 60 to 120 days! We were thinking of just mvoing in, renting until we close (preoccupying), so we could be moved in before Baby comes, but if it will be another four months (!!!) we're not all that comfortable with the idea. If we knew it would be a month or so, ok, but four months is a long time to be in the awkward pre-occupancy period. (What do you pay for? What does the homeowner pay for? What happens if, for some reason, the deal falls through and we're already living there?) So, barring any new information, we will just stay stay stay in the basement until we close on the house. Not fun, but we'll save more money! :)
Guess that's it. Not terribly exciting. We still are having a baby, still living in the country basement, still trying to figure out our lives. But, we're all healthy and all thankful this time of year about how incredibly blessed we are. We love our little family, and are grateful of the knowledge we have of eternal families. I can't wait to see you all, and hope it is sooner rather than later!
THE END.

I know my vote counts for nothing, as the rest of you have proved, but I'm for the name Lydia if it's a girl.
I like all the names except Roxanne...where did it come from? And I'm glad your loan has worked out but I'm sorry that it doesn't seem to make a difference. Yuck.
I really like Sawyer, but you're right, the short name is kind of dumb. But who says he has to have a short name. Lexi is my only kids with a nickname. The rest all get called their full given names. As for the girl names. I don't really like any of them. Sorry, but I don't. What is your due date again?
And hang in there with the house thing. I hated that whole process when we went through it, but it was worth it in the end. I hope we get to see you guys sooner rather than later too. Are you going out west for Christmas still?
